کتاب Fire and Blood با عنوان کامل Fire and Blood : A history of the Targaryen King from Aegon the Conqueror to Aeon III به داستان خاندان تارگرین که در حدود ۳۰۰ سال قبل از اتفاقات کتاب Game of thrones اتفاق افتاده پرداخته است. این کتاب توسط نویسنده شهیرش George R.R Martin نگارش شده است و توسط Doug Wheatly تصویرگر کانادایی مشهور که بیشتر برای کتاب های کامیک شهرت دارد تصویرگری شده است. کتاب آتش و خون در سال ۲۰۱۸ منتشر شد و به سرعت به یکی از پرفروش ترین کتاب های آمازون و نیویورک تایمز بدل شد که به بخشی از مجموعه کتاب های The Song of Ice and Fire پرداخته است.

جورج آر. آر مارتین این مجموعه را یک کتاب دو جلدی در نظر گرفته است که اکنون کتاب اول آن منتشر شده است و به مانند کتاب دیگرش A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms دارای جلوه های بصری زیبا می باشد.
